An Alignment Adjustment

Corporate worship realigns our cognitive understanding of God. Who He is and what He has done for us. From Sunday to Sunday, life has a way of taking shots at our knowledge of God, and maybe only subconsciously, our perspective of God, His character, and His nature can get bumped off course. Corporate worship allows us to declare God’s character and qualities, and it reminds us of what God’s Word says. Corporate worship keeps before us the depth of God’s greatness.

The heavens praise your wonders, Lord,
your faithfulness too, in the assembly of the holy ones.
For who in the skies above can compare with the Lord?
Who is like the Lord among the heavenly beings?
In the council of the holy ones God is greatly feared;
he is more awesome than all who surround him.
Who is like you, Lord God Almighty?
You, Lord, are mighty, and your faithfulness surrounds you.
Psalm 89:5-8

This passage instills, awakens, and evokes a sense of awe and wonder. It is a big reminder of just how beautiful, eternal, powerful, and awesome our God really is!

Our God is active and on the move. Jesus is alive! He has taken all our shame. We are forgiven and free. He is the Master of our lives, always leading and guiding us. We don’t have to ever lose heart because our help comes from the Lord. Our hope is in Him! He is the King of glory, the one who is strong and mighty! God is our Maker. He is our Father. He knows each one of us by name. He knows our every thought. He sees each tear that falls. He hears us when we call!

Every Sunday, when we gather together to worship God, joyfully declare God’s character! Allow the truth of God’s Word to be planted deep into your heart. Allow yourself to become overwhelmed at God’s immense greatness and power! Bow your knee at His footstool, giving Him the respect and honor He deserves! Allow your heart and understanding to get a much-needed alignment adjustment!

Exodus 15:11 “Who among the gods is like you, Lord? Who is like you—majestic in holiness, awesome in glory, working wonders?”

Jeremiah 10:6-7 “No one is like you, Lord; you are great, and your name is mighty in power. Who should not fear you, King of the nations? This is your due. Among all the wise leaders of the nations and in all their kingdoms, there is no one like you.”

Revelation 15:3-4 “Great and marvelous are your deeds, Lord God Almighty. Just and true are your ways, King of the nations. Who will not fear you, Lord, and bring glory to your name? For you alone are holy. All nations will come and worship before you, for your righteous acts have been revealed.”
