God Sings Over Us

It was my turn to put our son to bed. He was crying, fussing, and full of energy with eyes wide open. I tried the rocking chair; I walked around the room and held him in different positions. Nothing was working. Still fussing, I sat back down in the rocking chair. I held my son close and began to sing, “Go to bed. Go to bed. Lay down your sleepy head. Go to bed, go to bed, you can play when you wake again. There’ll be toys, and books to read, you can even wrestle with Daddy. But for now, it’s time for bed, sleepy head.” Eventually, his body began to relax, the crying softened, and he laid his head on my shoulder, content in the safety and love of his father’s arms.

The Gospel Has No Borders
