I Will

The human will is amazing. Victor Hugo once said, “People do not lack strength; they lack will.” When difficulty and hardships confront a person, they often say “they can’t” when in reality, what they are really saying is “they won’t.” We make decisions every day based on our own will. We face trauma often with fear but can overcome hardship by surrendering our will to God. A great example of surrendered will is Jesus’ prayer in the garden, ““saying, “Father, if You are willing, remove this cup from Me; yet not My will, but Yours be done.”” (Luke 22:42, NASB95) God chose to let His only Son suffer and die. Jesus chose to surrender His will to follow the Father’s will.

Show Us Your Ways!

     “Have you ever asked yourself, “Why does God do what he does?” In Psalm 103:7, we read, “He (God) made known his ways to Moses, his deeds to the people of Israel.”  I wonder if King David (who wrote this Psalm) had been reading the book of Exodus, particularly what we know as chapters 33 & 34?
