General Description:            
     The Associate Pastor is a member of the Pastoral Staff and is selected for an unspecified period of service by the Lead Pastor in conjunction with the Board of Elders. He is responsible to assist the Lead Pastor in discipling and guiding the congregation of Warren Community Fellowship into a deeper, intimate worship relationship with God through music and corporate gatherings. In addition the Associate Pastor will assist the Lead Pastor with administration and oversight of ministries as designated by the Lead Pastor. His main focus is working with music leaders and ushers and greeters to implement the vision of the Lead Pastor and Elders, thus freeing up the time of the Lead Pastor for leading, teaching, and discipleship. He is expected to contribute to the team spirit of the staff through fellowship, encouragement, cooperation, prayer support and other appropriate ways, as he serves his Lord Jesus, the Lead Pastor, and the congregation of WCF.  
Justification of the Position:            
     In light of the size of WCF and the specific needs that come with leading in music and corporate gatherings, a person with a unique set of gifts and talents in the area of Worship Arts is needed to lead in music, and administration to manage the varied teams associated with corporate worship gatherings. In addition to managing the music teams, oversight is needed in the areas of ushers, greeters, hospitality and technology associated with the production of the Worship Service. This person will assist in setting overall vision along with the Lead Pastor and Board of Elders concerning the act of corporate worship.  
Qualifications, Education, Training and Experience:
  • Meets all the pastoral qualifications of 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9 and 1 Peter 5:1-4.
  • Servant and Shepherd leadership that demonstrates God’s love to the church body and beyond.
  • Seeks to glorify God and follow His will above all other possible motivations.
  • Must have the ability to manage day-to-day operations and staff.
  • Must have proven skills in change management, setting vision, conflict resolution, and people management.
  • 3-5 years of music and corporate worship leading experience.
  • 3-5 years of management / leadership experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience, preferred.

  Special Skills:

  • Musical ability in voice, can lead with at least one musical instrument such as a keyboard or guitar.
  • Ability to perform and teach a variety of music styles from traditional to contemporary in order to engage a blended or specific audience.
  • Ability to train and lead music groups and worship teams.
  • Ability to lead and administrate special music projects and worship programs such as, but not limited to, Easter and Christmas.

  Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead and disciple all those who serve under Worship Arts and Productions, Usher/Greeters, and Hospitality ministries.
  • Develop weekly plans in advance for team scheduling, rehearsal planning, song selection and / or oversight of weekly team leads.
  • Lead / co-lead or be present at all Sunday and Midweek services.
  • Work with the Lead Pastor to schedule and coordinate special services and worship activities for the congregation.
  • Manage and maintain all sound, lighting and production equipment associated with Worship Arts Ministry.
  • Manage and develop the area of usher, greeter, hospitality and production technology ministries.
  • Assist Lead Pastor in ministries relating to counseling, weddings, funerals and pulpit fill.
