Peacemakers are identified as “sons of God” because Jesus is the Son of God who models the ministry of reconciliation to the world. Jesus is the ultimate “Peacemaker” because He came as an ambassador to mankind to reconcile the relationship between a Holy God and sinful mankind through His sacrificial death on the cross.
The task of peacemaking in this age has become extremely difficult because Satan seeks to ruin reconciliation. Satan and his minions will do everything in their power to create chaos and turmoil, so there is no peace. Anarchy and lawlessness are the devil’s playground. He is working overtime to silence the message of reconciliation and maintain chaos through a riotous and rebellious human race, thereby silencing the message of the gospel. Satan has infiltrated communities, families, and the churches with infighting over social topics and ideologies that destroy the peace between one another and dulls the ear to the Word of God.
Peacemaking in this world is tough because real peace will not occur until man is reconciled with God. The true Christ-follower will seek to become a peacemaker because they are being conformed into the image of Jesus, the ultimate peacemaker. The question that you should ask yourself is, “Am I being a peacemaker, or am I contributing to anarchy?” The mission of God’s children is peacemaking through the ministry of reconciliation. When you bring the ministry of reconciliation between people and God, you will find your blessings from God.
