Jesus the Provider

When Jesus then saw His mother, and the disciple whom He loved standing nearby, He said to His mother, “Woman, behold, your son!” Then He said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother!” From that hour the disciple took her into his own household.” (John 19:26–27)

Is the Cross Offensive or Comforting?

“And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to Myself.” (John 12:32)
 
Earlier this week the Supreme Court made the decision that a World War I memorial cross could continue to stand at the crossroad intersection in Bladensburg, Maryland. Many people wanted the cross removed because it is a “preeminent symbol of Christianity.” And they are correct; it is a symbol of victory over death.
